To the Unknown

June 01, 2011

“If we don’t offer ourselves to the unknown, our senses dull. Our world becomes small and we lose our sense of wonder. Our eyes don’t lift to the horizon; our ears don’t hear the sounds around us. The edge is off our experience, and we pass our days in a routine that is both comfortable and limiting. We wake up one day and find that we have lost our dreams in order to protect our days.”

  1. What a wonderful way of putting it..."offering ourselves to the unknown"
    How sublime.

  2. Such powerful words! MY subconscious is still saying "WOW" while I process the layers of meanings. I am especially caught with the first line, like Possum. I hope I always keep my sense of wonder, and always have a bit of discomfort as I travel through my days.

  3. The last line is the one that resonates with me the most. It's so easy to get caught up in the day-to-day and forget about the big dreams of life.
