And although this holiday is celebrating those in the military who lost their lives for this country, I also salute the peaceful fighters such as Martin Luther King Jr. and Cesar Chavez who fought the battle peacefully within our borders making our country better than before. Hope you have a wonderful weekend too.

I'm very grateful for this holiday as well, a chance to salute our troops from all wars. I found out that Memorial Day used to be called Decoration Day to honor Civil War soldiers, then it became a national holiday to celebrate veterans of all foreign wars.

Timaree--Thank you, we did--hope you did, too. I agree that all those who fight for a better world are worth remembering.

Krista--I just learned that about Memorial Day this year, too! It's amazing to me how much I DON'T know about holidays I've celebrated all my life.
