Eugene Delacroix

“How are you? Are you ruling your imagination? That is the important thing: we are happy when we believe ourselves to be so, and if our minds are set on the opposite extreme all the diversions in the world will not give us any pleasure.”
—Eugene Delacroix, in an 1858 letter to Mme de Forget, The Journal of Eugene Delacroix

  1. Wow what a fantastic quote Kathy. Goes along with the thought about focusing on what is true and right and keeping our eyes on the positive and not the negative. Take care friend and have a super weekend. Hugs!

  2. Sounds like Delacroix was a follower of cognitive behavioral therapy! Or, I remember my mother reading The Power of Positive Thinking, back in the late 50's or early 60's maybe...

    1. Rita, I remember reading The Power of Positive Thinking many years ago...a forerunner of the positive psychology movement, perhaps.
