California Bound

September 16, 2011

By the time you read this, I’ll be in the air, on the way to California to visit my family—all by myself. My husband and son get to spend some quality time with each other (heh) while I take a break. I spent much of yesterday afternoon packing clothes and deciding which books to take (yes, I know an e-reader would be easier to pack, but I’m not there yet—plus I’m still working on reading challenges!). I’m only carrying on (it's been my experience that checked luggage is lost luggage) so space is an issue. I won’t be posting for a week or so, but instead plan to fill the well a bit.

Have a great week!

  2. Have a great trip and enjoy some hopefully lovely weather! I have a Nook, but to be honest 99% of the time I still reach for my paper books. I guess I'm not quite there yet either.

  5. Yay! Hope the well gets to overflowing! A kindle is good but I think a nook is now better with it's color version but I will try for a tablet next on which you can read or watch a movie! Or keep up with your blog, lol. I love to take my kindle with it's books and games but it's rather behind now with the Ipad. It saves so much space over books though so is really handy when you don't want to check luggage. But- you won't be having time for much reading if you are visiting family and seeing all the places they'll be taking you to. Have fun!

  7. Hi, Mary--I love it, too. I use it for travel and for when I go to a coffee shop or someplace like that to work.
