Pleasure

April 18, 2012

“Don’t ever forget that God speaks to us in pleasure, as well as challenges and growth pains. Our genuine desires and yearnings, they don’t feed the greed that is destroying our world if we keep listening.”

  1. Kathy, I love those moments where I realize that my prayers have been answered and I haven't even thought to pray them yet. That is God pleasing me, for sure.

That dog sure does look happy! Hope that your weekend is wonderful,

  3. That is truly one very happy and contented doggy you have there. :)
Have you read John Eldredge's book, 'Desire'? It talks about how we tend to bury our passions and desires over time, in order to avoid disappoinments or failure. But God longs for us to be in tune with those yearnings that He has put in us in the first place. Too often we tend to not associate pleasure with God.

"Delight yourself in the LORD and he will give you the desires of your heart." Psalm 37:4, NIV

  4. Michelle--No, I haven't read that book. It sounds very interesting, and my word of the year is "passion," so I'm going to look for it at my library. Thanks for the tip!
